In the grand scheme of bridal budgeting, the question often arises if an Event Coordinator is really a necessity. In a word…yes.
What a relief to have local professionals to help plan, oversee, and execute all of your details, assist with budgeting strategy, recommend and stay in contact with each of your vendors, assist with the setup and transition of your ceremony and reception sites, and (most importantly) troubleshoot any issues that may come up on the big day. (This service can be of particular value for those couples planning a destination wedding.)
Some words of advice…1. The services of Event Coordinators vary and can often be customized to meet your needs so be sure to have a clear understanding of what “is” and “is not” included before you sign a contract. And, if you make changes along the way…don’t be surprised if their fee is adjusted accordingly. 2. Seek the opinions of other Event Professionals to find out who it is they recommend. (A fancy website with glossy photos does not a good Event Coordinator make.)
In a nutshell, an Event Coordinator will help make your event stress-free and enjoyable. Certainly, weddings and special events are planned every day without the help of an event coordinator. But given the choice…it’s money well spent.
